Are you sure it’s October?
Packing our bags for the annual half term retreat to our beautiful caravan, I fill it with jumpers, jeans and all things warm. Well it is autumn after all! Although once we arrived at Perranporth we were transported into the last few days of summer. So nothing better to be done than attacking the beach with tennis rackets at hand.
To top it off the beach is relatively vacant, our own little piece of heaven; well 3 miles of it!
Imagination into overdrive we go searching for trolls; beautiful ones obviously, according to my youngest. Going as far as we dare into the caves until it is pitch black a dripping noise can be heard in the distance. “Mummy she’s having a shower we can’t disturb her.” So about turn we go.
So what next? Well splashing in a deep rock pool of course; what else would you do on a late October day in a t-shirt and rolled up leggings because it’s just too warm for the woolly jumpers mummy thought wise to pack! Who needs beach wear in October!
With the season drawing to an end, we couldn’t have had a better last week before packing up the van ready for winter. I look back at the happy memories we have built over the past 8 months and am thankful for our little piece of heaven.
Have a lovely winter all and hopefully we will see you next season.
